What can YOU do?
Join us and become a member of WCDG
Come to our meetings , our general meetings are held every 6 weeks at WAC: where developers present their proposals for consideration, and where you can raise your concerns – and stay for a drink/chat at the end!
Join us in our campaigns: currently we are involved in projects to Create a permanent library facility at Waterloo
Create a new extended park on the South Bank at Jubilee Gardens
Improve Emma Cons Gardens
Develop a strategy for improvements to all Waterloo’s open spaces
Engage young parents in identifying their needs and priorities
Improve connections to Lower Marsh and The cut
Agreeing priorities for investment of planning gain
Membership of WCDG is open to any individual
aged 18 or over and
a permanent resident of the Waterloo Area*
supports the Objects and Policies of the organisation.
Waterloo is the area bounded by the River Thames, Lambeth Rd and the Borough boundary (all members must therefore be resident of Lambeth).
Your membership is important! It helps demonstrate to our core funders (e.g. Lambeth Council) that you support WCDG’s aims and objectives. Members are entitled to vote at meetings to elect the Management Committee and adopt new policies.
[Please note:
1. In the event of the company being wound up members may be required to contribute an amount of no more than £1. This applies for up to one year after membership may have ceased.
2. The Management Committee can suspend membership by giving written notice for such reasons as: ceasing to live in the area, or not attending a meeting for over 12 months.]

Meetings
General meetings, for all members, residents and ward councillors only, are held every 6 weeks. The elected Management Committee meets separately once a month.
Equal Opportunities
WCDG has a strict equal opportunity policy and welcomes applications from members of all sections of the community.
How the group is run
Policy decisions on planning matters are made at General Meetings, by the Members. The Management Committee’s role is to oversee the implementation of policy decisions (made at General Meetings), to employ the staff and volunteers, and to oversee the administration of the group. The staff and volunteers are employed to implement policy decisions, to give information and advice to all local residents and community groups, and to service WCDG.
Elections
A minimum of 4 and a maximum of 13 Management Committee Members are elected at the AGM: Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and 1-10 other members of the Management Committee. Only Members are eligible to be nominated for election to the Management Committee.
